On 20th November 2025, we had the honor of welcoming a World Bank delegation to C&D Products Rwanda, led by Mr. Qimiao Fan, Division Director for Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia and Uganda, and Mr. Sahr Kpundeh, Rwanda Country Manager.
The delegation visited our factory to gain a firsthand understanding of the progress achieved through our ongoing Skills Development Fund (SDF) Program collaboration.
The SDF Program is a government-backed initiative designed to provide training and employment opportunities for Rwandan youth, helping them gain practical skills in garment manufacturing and improve their employability in the local industry.
Over the past five years, 3,227 young Rwandans have been trained and employed through the SDF-supported model. And now more than 7,000 employees work at C&D Products Rwanda, representing one of the largest workforces in the country’s apparel manufacturing sector.
The visit also focused on the next stage of development, where we discussed with the SDF and World Bank how to move from foundational skills training to more advanced capabilities, supporting Rwanda’s long-term goals under the National Skills Development and Employment Promotion Strategy (NSDEPS).
As the country continues to position itself as a competitive manufacturing hub, we remain committed to investing in people, expanding opportunities, and contributing to Rwanda’s inclusive and sustainable economic development.
We are grateful for the World Bank team’s visit and the thoughtful discussions we had. This encouragement motivates us to keep moving forward, creating impact step by step.
